16 years ago we walked into the Anchorage Animal Care Shelter “just to look” and while we were there we found the sweetest little kitten who immediately chose us as her forever family.

Over the past 16 years Missy has been the most wonderful part of our home. She was always so loving and snuggly. She tolerated us putting her in ridiculous outfits. She loved tuna and lil’ soups and laying in the sunshine. From the time she was a kitten she always had the loudest purrs, that never went away even into her old age.

Yesterday, Missy passed on peacefully at home. She was comfortable and surrounded by her favorite things in the home where she spent her entire life.

Thank you to Dr. Amanda Grimes with Fireweed Veterinary Services who helped our sweet Missy girl cross over in the most loving and peaceful and humane way possible. We’re forever grateful for the care you gave her in her final moments.

We’re so thankful for 16 amazing years with the most amazing cat, but today we’re sad.

We love you, Missy girl. Thank you for choosing us.
