We adopted Freckles (Freckie) in 2006 from the Anchorage animal shelter. She was not our first choice, but a dog we saw waiting to be released from quarantine to be available for adoption after the dog we intended to take home was adopted by the couple in front of us in line. We met her and were unsure at first, but one look at her curious eyes peering at us from underneath her long eyelashes and the rest was history.
Freckie had quite the personality. She was a handful those first few years with her sassy attitude, boundless energy and antics that made us laugh, and at times, feel like pulling our hair out. Through the years, she was our constant companion on many adventures. She was larger than life and became the center of our universe.
Words are inadequate to express the hole her absence left in our hearts and home, but we will cherish the joy and memories she gave us in the almost 17 years we were blessed with her love.
“We spent your entire life loving you and will spend the rest of ours missing you”.
Thank you Dr. Grimes for helping us send our sweet girl across the rainbow bridge painlessly and peacefully in the comfort of her home and in the loving embrace of her family.
